OvuGel® stimulates the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) in the weaned sow. This leads to ovulation 40-48 hours later.
Because ovulation occurs as a timed response to an OvuGel® treatment, a timed insemination program can be used to breed sows. OvuGel® can be used for the synchronization of time of insemination in weaned sows to facilitate a single fixed-time artificial insemination. The OvuGel® program results in normal fertility.
